As bilateral relations grows, Saudi-Vietnam trade exchange hits SR8 billion

Over the last two years, trade between Saudi Arabia and Vietnam has increased dramatically, with a value of more than SR8 billion ($2.13 billion). This was announced during the fourth session of the Saudi-Vietnamese Joint Committee's virtual meeting on Wednesday.

The discussion was co-chaired by Bandar Al-Khamis, Deputy Minister for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and Cao Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade on the Vietnamese side, in the attendance of Saudi Ambassador to Vietnam Saud Al-Suwailem and Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Vu Viet Dung.

In the conference, they discussed about the economic and social highlights, investment prospects, and health-care cooperation between the two countries, as well as the other accomplishments that are made under the committee's pretense, such as the air services agreement. This air service agreement allowed the opening of air space between the two countries.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) recently signed an agreement that included agenda for improving cooperation and news sharing and the utilization of information services.

International relations, commerce, water, electricity, manufacturing, agriculture, investment, finance, development assistance, job, education, human resource development, media, culture, sports, tourism, protection, security, science, technology, and innovation are among the areas where the two countries decided to support each other towards working together.

The Saudi-Vietnamese Joint Committee was established in 2006 with the goal of unanimous discussion about ways to coordinate in a variety of areas that benefit both countries' growth.
