Hays: About 50% of Saudi Employees Expect Salary Hikes This Year

Dubai: After the disruption of COVID-19, employees in Saudi Arabia are looking forward to salary increment survey which states about 50% employees are expecting that!

In this case around 56% of employees employed in this Kingdom expect hikes as per Hays 2021 Saudi Arabia Salary & Employment Report. It is made from market survey of about 600 professionals.

The Managing Director of Hays in the Middle East, Chris Greaves said, “Saudi Arabia can’t be avoided the affects of COVID-19. Indeed, consequential reductions in the prices and lockdown measures lead to many organizations of the country for forced redundancies and lessen the salaries in order to remain operational.”

“But it was during the hype of pandemic considering the global scale the job market of Saudi Arabia had done fairly well.” Irrespective of the pandemic, 39% employees get an increase on their pay last year it is a significant proportion although!

The survey highlighted both on redundancies and pay cuts occurrences are relatively low in this Gulf subcontinent in contrast to other countries. 18% of UAE professionals more experienced salary decrease than in Saudi. Most of the employers forced to cut off the staffs in UAE whereas 68% organizations in Saudi Arabia resulted in no redundancies.

Among this, 5 other initiatives have been also set by the representatives for betterment of the cooperation within these 2 countries. Some notably of them are facilitation of traffic between ports, improvement of airports to enable easy travel service to disabled people, financial awareness program for children of 7-18 years old, inception of joint platform for supporting local SMEs and the civil aviation market integration.

As per Greaves, “Saudi Arabia is affected quite less by the pandemic and it is evident in the results.”Already 81% employers of the Arabia are in recovery already with 62% businesses expecting increase in 2021. 76% of the organizations plan to recruit additional man force in the companies within next year.

Greaves made to add, “Whilst it is about salaries, organizations are keeping a lid on the increase of pay for attempting the recoup of the financial losses of last year. This optimism will lead to high pay rises by the end of 2021 and expected for so!”

Survey disclosed that salary is the key factor that leads 44% professionals of Saudi Arabia to look for new job within next year. He thrown, “For the employees of private sector organizations don’t need the consent of the employer for leaving any organization once the contract is over resulting in high labor mobility than from last few years.”
