On Tuesday, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) hosted a webinar titled "Al in Agriculture," which focused on the effect of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques on farming and food production.

The webinar was part of the Abu Dhabi Artificial Intelligence Lab's operations, which were co-hosted by the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) and the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).

Jeff Keiser, Lead Offering Manager, Agribusiness Solutions at IBM Company, one of the world's pioneers in digital farming and artificial intelligence applications, led the webinar. Those interested in using artificial intelligence in agriculture attended.

Ayesha Mohamed Al Khazraji, ADAFSA's Analysis Section Manager, greeted the speaker and attendees, emphasizing the value of the webinar in attaining agricultural sustainability and production. She reaffirmed ADAFSA's support for the Abu Dhabi Government's strategy and the National Programme for Artificial Intelligence, which intends to use AI technology in all activities to enhance services and boost customer satisfaction.

“AI and automation are expected to have a huge effect on the global agriculture industry, pushing new business opportunities and challenging existing value chains,” said Mohamed Abdullah Almadhani, Adviser of the Data and Applied Intelligence Sector at the ADDA. We are ecstatic to be a part of this webinar, which examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping agriculture's future.”

“AI is constantly being used to resolve some of the world's greatest problems, including COVID-19, distribution network, food safety, and more,” said Dr. Ahmed Dabbagh, Director of Professional Services at MBZUAI. In the United Arab Emirates, automation and artificial intelligence are being used to increase crop production in accordance with the National Food Security Strategy.

We're excited to work with ADAFSA and ADDA to promote AI use by teaching, molding, and inspiring innovative leaders who can help us navigate the 4th industrial revolution.
