Lars Pera, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to the UAE, and Jose Bassila, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Guatemala, were recently welcomed by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of the SCCI, and Fatima Al Mokarrab, Director of the SCCI International Relations Department, welcomed the visiting group.
The meeting discussed the significance of capitalizing on the two nations' strong relations in boosting cooperative investments in a variety of sectors, particularly food security and waste management, and natural tourist collaboration.
The two parties decided to have a sharing session with the SCCI counterpart in Guatemala and to discuss signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation at all levels.
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, highlighting the importance of the meeting in increasing the possibilities of commercial and investment cooperation, stated that perhaps the Emirate of Sharjah has great competitive features that make this one of the top business locations in the country. This comprises a flexible and dynamic legislative environment for corporate growth, advanced infrastructure, and a strategic position in the heart of the world's largest markets.
Al Owais elaborated on the Sharjah Chamber's role in assisting enterprises desiring to begin their operations and investments in the emirate by providing all of the essential facilities and different services for their success.
Lars Pera, for his part, welcomed Sharjah's business community to explore his nation to understand more about prospective investment possibilities, noting that Guatemala had enormous potential in a variety of areas.
Pera invited Emirati businesses and investors to organize a trade delegation to Guatemala, reiterating his country's eagerness to give all the assistance and facilities needed for their ventures to succeed. The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is willing to create the Central American marketplaces as a fertile market for agricultural and food products, and services, logistics, and financial sectors, as per Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, noting that the SCCI is eager to strengthen its existence in vital and emerging markets that provide opportunities for growth and expansion for its business partners.
Previously, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) revealed that it had accomplished approximately 49,131 electronic transactions over the last four months, encompassing a wide range of services provided by the Chamber to the business community, such as certificates of origin and membership ratifications.
The Chamber also declared that all of its services are now entirely electronic, along with an integrated system of smart services to assist investors and consumers in completing transactions remotely in compliance with the best international norms and standards.
“This significant volume of online transactions strongly demonstrates the SCCI's digital infrastructure's preparedness and the effectiveness of its services in meeting the demands of the business community.” This is part of the Chamber's pledge to assist the Emirate of Sharjah's efforts to establish advanced, creative, and sustainable digital services, following wise leadership and Sharjah government's directives which always request ongoing and strong assistance for various business sectors in the emirate,” said Mohammed Ahmed Al Awadi, Director-general, SCCI.
