The UAE has given more than $1.11 billion in humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees over the last 10 years.

The UAE has committed $30 million to international attempts to reduce the misery of Syrians. This came as the country took part in the United Nations and European Union-hosted ‘Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region' conference in Brussels.

The pledge would assist in raising funds for humanitarian assistance in Syria's war-torn nation.

Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar said at a virtual international conference that the UAE believes "firmly in a diplomatic solution as the only way out of the Syrian crisis".

He emphasized his country's complete support for international mediation efforts aimed at achieving a peace agreement focused on the Geneva Conference and a Security Council resolution.

He affirmed the UAE's opposition to foreign meddling in Syrian affairs, emphasizing the importance of a strong Arab presence.

Since the start of the crisis, the UAE has welcomed more than 130,000 Syrians, according to reports shared by Al Marar.

Throughout Syria's years of war and misery, the UAE has "maintained its status" in support of its people, both within the country and in neighboring countries hosting the refugees.

The UAE has given more than $1.11 billion in humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Greece over the last ten years. Food, shelter, and healthcare are the important provisions among them. UAE also took the initiative to establish field hospitals and refugee camps for war-torn refugees.
