Dubai Culture’s virtual workshop promotes reading

Princess Tarfa

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced a virtual workshop titled "Reading is good for the Soul" for adults over the age of 18. The Authority invites citizens and residents to participate in a workshop hosted by the Dubai Performing Arts Programme on March 30th through Microsoft Teams.

This workshop is part of the Authority's efforts to kick off the National Month of Reading and encourage community members, especially the younger generation, to embrace knowledge by encouraging them to read daily. It is in conjunction with the Authority's activities for The Reading Box 2021, launched in a digital format this year.

Ibrahim Al Yafi, a consultant and educator in the field of improving human capital, organizations, and leadership skills, will address two main topics during the workshop. It will be centered on Dubai Culture's understanding of the value of reading as a successful means of self-development and advancement. Many people avoid reading. A reader’s failure to achieve the desired value from reading will be addressed, and various strategies to overcome them.

The Dubai Performing Arts Programme is organized by Dubai Culture to discover, encourage, grow and cultivate emerging talents. This helps to promote music and culture among children. It leads to the creation of a generation that values creativity and innovation. This is the Authority's strategic plan, which aims to enhance the emirate's status as a global cultural centre, a creative incubator, and a vibrant talent hub.
