According to Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, "innovative ideas are important for creating an entrepreneurial future in law enforcement and are the motor that spins the wheel hard in the pursuit for excellence." Innovation in Dubai Police is an important path to enhancing efficiency and retaining Dubai Police's standard and status in the constant search of the highest, he said.

In the company of Brigadier General Ahmed Rafie, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs, Brigadier General Khaled Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence, a host of staff, and ten participants from ten countries, Al Marri launched the ‘External Innovation Platform' in Dubai Police's Innovation Lab.

The announcement coincides with the preparations for the UAE's 50th founding anniversary and the Ministry of Interior's golden jubilee.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ibrahim Bin Sebaa Al Marri, Chairman of the Dubai Police Innovation Council, the forum allows the public within and outside the UAE to interact with the Dubai Police Innovation Lab to apply their proposals and share in creating alternatives and promoting new concepts.

According to him, a designated panel comprised of Dubai Police creativity experts would review the proposed ideas and projects and choose the best proposal for each of the challenges identified on the website.

For each challenge, the best suggestion will be awarded a financial prize of Dhs25,000. External users, he further said, will log in and register in the platform on the website https://innovation.dubaipolice.gov.ae, where they will see the problems that will be posted on the portal regularly.
