Dubai Tourism will highlight the city's rich tourism propositions at ATM

The 2021 Arabian Travel Market will see Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) bring out all the bolts to keep the destination in the global spotlight, with exclusive meetings, campaigns, and programs intended to speed up tourism momentum in this historic year for Dubai.

Over 70 delegates from government agencies, hotels, destination management firms and tour operators would join Dubai Tourism at the Dubai stands in Hall 3 of the Dubai World Trade Centre to securely invite stakeholders, partners, and tourists to the main industry event in a physical environment, as part of ongoing efforts to guide global tourism revival.

The Arabian Travel Market, happening for the first time as a hybrid event from 16-19 May (physical) and 23-25 May (virtual), is a central fixture on the international tourism and travel calendar. This year's event featuring industry discussions around the topic "A New Dawn for Travel."

“ATM will play a crucial role in strengthening the industry over what seems to be one of the most difficult times for global tourism,” said Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Tourism. With Dubai being the host city and being one of the event's long-standing official allies our presence, along with a cross-section of industry members, is critical to the international efforts undergoing to deal with a rapidly changing situation and to drive post-pandemic tourism development. As we look ahead to support ATM's attempts to assist revive the travel sector and promote business inside our industry, we would also use this valuable forum to highlight the scope of Dubai's tourism opportunity and ambitious ventures and measures, while emphasizing that the health and wellbeing of residents and tourists stay our highest priority. We are committed to achieving our tourism plan of turning Dubai into the most visited and one of the most recommended travel destinations throughout the world.

“This has already been reinforced further this year by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who debuted the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which will set the stage for more than doubling the diversity of Dubai's options and experiences in the next two decades, finally placing Dubai as the best”.

Guests to the Dubai Tourism stand will be able to hear about a wide range of options, events, and programs from the organization's main divisions. These involve Dubai's attempts to uphold its status being one of the best travel destinations in the world, and preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai and the UAE's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The Dubai College of Tourism will showcase the scope of its educational offerings to travel and trade partners, and the organization's position in influencing the future generation of Dubai's tourism workforce including the industry nationalization program Medyaf, which empowers Emirati nationals to take up positions in the sector and provides them with the necessary knowledge and skills to be effective. The College will highlight its diverse course curriculum, including Dubai Way, an online learning network that provides a range of new and interactive practical classes in sync with domestic requirements and global travel patterns. In September 2021, there will also be five full-time vocational courses and scholarships accepting applications, including Food & Beverage Service, Front Office, and Hospitality Management.

Given Dubai's status as among the world's top culinary destinations and the region's food capital, the gastronomy industry will also be a primary promotional priority for Dubai Tourism throughout ATM.

The Dubai stand would also showcase key efforts by government agencies and business leaders, highlighting the emirate's active public-private partnership model, which aims to sustain the emirate's ever-changing tourism environment. Dubai Police, Dubai Health Authority, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA–Dubai), and Dubai Municipality would also be present at the stand. In conjunction, following the declaration that Dubai plans to raise the contribution of creative arts to the emirate's GDP from 2.6 % to 5% during the next five years, the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU) and Dubai Culture would be the champion Emirati arts and culture at the recently introduced Al Quoz Creative Zone.
