Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers are not permitted on roads near mosques: Sharjah Police

Princess Tarfa

The Sharjah Police Department has declared that they have increased their arrangements for the Ramadan 27th and 29th nights, and the Eid Al Fitr holidays.

This occurred during a meeting headed by Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amer, Deputy Commander in Chief, and held through the visual contact function. Brigadier General Aref Bin Hadeeb, Head of the Media and Public Relations Branch, Colonel Dr. Ali Abul Zoud, Deputy Director of Central Operations, and a host of departmental directors attended the conference.

The meeting stated that Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers would be held directly inside mosques, rather than in the squares and roads around the mosques, in compliance with public health and safety laws and regulations, and the precautionary and protective steps in place to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19.

The meeting went through the arrangements prepared by the various departments for the Ramadan 27th and 29th nights, as well as the Eid Al Fitr holidays.

To establish discipline 300 military and civilian patrols will be assigned to all regions and main streets throughout Sharjah City, and the eastern and central areas.

This is under the Ministry of Interior's policy strategy of making roads safe by lowering irregular parking and preventing traffic congestion.

In the meantime, accessible Eid prayer halls would comply with guidelines provided afterward by the relevant authority and will be applicable in time depending on developments.

The meeting also addressed the central operations room's willingness to handle all calls and general requests obtained from the citizens by dialing 999 for emergency cases and 901 for non-emergency scenarios.
