Business & Finance Club - Manama : Bahrain's leaders have pledged world-class health services for the nation.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, decided to form a committee headed by Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to supervise and administer the new hi-tech King Hamad General Hospital.
The Premier will set out its function and responsibilities. The move is in harmony with the government's commitment to provide high-quality health care, in line with international standards, they said.
King Hamad Hospital will serve as a model operated by international experts and provide services to all citizens.
The two leaders reviewed Bahrain's education process, including vocational and higher education, based on reports by a committee headed by Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and work by public establishments like the Education and Training Quality Assurance Authority, headed by Premier's Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and the Higher Education Council.
HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince discussed ways of providing educational opportunities for citizens to suit their abilities and also to enable them to gain new skills that improve their productivity.
This will also serve to meet labour market requirements and make education output more realistic.
They will study offering financial incentives to encourage students to join vocational education and provide suitable circumstances for practical training in companies during their studies, with token wages, in accordance with international standards. Vocational education branches will to be based on the state's future requirements.
Concerned partied were also urged to encourage people who do not possess academic abilities to join vocational education. Higher education should meet the state's future requirements and Bahrain 2030 Vision, HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince stressed.-
