Large Retail/CPG businesses, one of the fastest-growing GCC segments in India, are increasingly relying on their GCCs to successfully manage the complexities of their transformation as industries to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives. In this regard, NASSCOM released a survey report today titled "Evolution of Retail/CPG GCCs in India" in partnership with ANSR, a global market leader in planning, developing, and running Global Capability Centers. According to the report, over the next two years, 80 percent of the top 100 global Retail/CPG companies will consider establishing a GCC in India.
Few highlights of the survey:
Since last five years, the number of GCCs formed has increased at a rapid pace. The bulk of investments in the digital and innovation space are made in India, which is home to the world's largest retail/CPG GCC brands.
By building labs and leveraging the start-up ecosystem, retail/CPG companies are rapidly pushing creativity from their GCCs. Bengaluru has been chosen as GCC venue, with 70% of Retail/CPG GCCs.
GCCs employed 50,000 people in India, which accounts for around 25% of all global Retail/CPG firms. GCCs are assisting multinational Retail / CPG companies.
GCC is used to create core businesses to develop digital and technological capabilities.
In 2021, GCC is aiming to establish 25 new GCCs in Retail/CPG industry, by recruiting from the matured bunch of talents.
