Business & Finance Club - Beauty : Seems as if we have all got so involved in buying the right SPF sunscreen, the most expensive skin care creams, lotions that protect us from cancer, dengue, acne and what not, exfoliation systems that are "it", herbal treatments that are cutting edge... phew! In the process we have just forgotten about the basics. What happened to good, old fashioned common sense? Simple skin care tips that always worked, that forever gave us protection from premature aging and wrinkles.
Hydration H2O
Hydration techniques didn't always come in a bottle or a spray. They merely consisted of gulping water, even when you weren't thirsty. Plain and simple, 8 glasses of water or more a day. In fact, I remember my mum never steps out of the house without her mandatory bottle of drinking water. She keeps taking sips from it and now, even in her sixties, she has glowing skin. Skin that is naturally glowing, please note. Not a "glow" that comes out of a bottle. So slurp away by keeping a bottle of water nearby. And it does not matter what type of water you drink: still, sparkling, mineral or flavoured. As long as it is clean H2O.
Premature Aging
Your face will age. But avoid pulling it into different shapes. For example, I remember as a kid I'd keep pursing up my lips thinking it made me look older and more sophisticated. Big mistake. When I noticed that I had started getting puckering lines quite quickly, I stopped immediately. Young girls will arch their eyebrows deliberately or they will go about keeping their eyes wide open. They think it adds to their beauty. What it essentially does is that it adds premature wrinkles and makes our facial lines look older before their time.
Looking Cool
What girls do at the altar of "looking cool"! They slouch their shoulders thinking it makes them look "hep" or "it". They will slant their hips forward or they arch their buttocks. Boys walk with an artificial swagger. All this does is invite premature back pain and makes them look ill-at-ease. It is the same as pricking your pimples. It might make the ugly spot disappear but you are left with a scar your entire life.
The coolest look you can get, as you age, is one of natural beauty and ageing gracefully. Everyone doesn't have to look like Cameron Diaz and a thinner lip or a wider eye won't make you look like a film star either. If you can accept your own looks, you will exude confidence and that will make you look even prettier.
