Tips on cocoa and fruit

Business & Finance Club - Nutrition : Which is healthier — a bar of milk chocolate or a bar of dark chocolate plus a glass of milk?

They're the same. The benefits of chocolate are largely because of the cocoa, which is rich in flavonoids (they prevent blood clots). Flavonoid levels are reduced if eaten with dairy products. Eating milk chocolate or drinking milk with dark chocolate blocks flavonoid absorption.

Dark chocolate provides more iron. For the healthiest option, eat dark chocolate and have a glass of milk at another time for higher levels of calcium.

Which fruit has the most fibre per gram — passion fruit, kiwis, apples or bananas?

Passion fruit. Gram for gram, passion fruit are the richest in fibre — good for bowel health and relieving constipation. Each fruit (around 18 grams) contains two grams of fibre (the recommended daily amount is 24 grams).

One kiwi also provides two grams of fibre but it weighs more than a passion fruit, so gram for gram, it isn't as rich in fibre. A small apple contains two grams and a banana contains three grams.
