Busniess & Finance Club - Falconry - TUNISIAONLINENEWS: The 44th edition of the El Haouaria falconry festival, which Kick-started on June 17, 2010, concluded on Sunday at the  town’s falconers club.

The falcons are migratory birds and are caught at the beginning of each year during their passage through the region; they are then trained to hunt by falconers.

The closing ceremony which was attended by Mr. Nadhir Hamada, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, was marked by the participation of a large number of devotees of the art of Falconry and nature lovers   from various regions of the country.

Different hunting methods practiced in the region, were presented on that occasion by falconers keen to develop the art and transmit it to future generations.

Other cultural activities such as plastic arts exhibition tracing the history of falconry in the region, drawing contests and photography and animation workshops, attracted visitors from neighboring towns and villages such as Hammam Ghezaz,  and Kelibia.
