Business & Finance Club - Dubai: Dream Ahead, owned by the Dubai Racing Club's popular Steward Khalifa Bin Dasmal, annihilated his rivals with a scintillating nine-length victory in the Group One Shadwell Middle Park Stakes, the showpiece race at Newmarket Friday.

Ridden by William Buick, the two-year-old son of 1999 Champion European sprinter Diktat, looked a class act as he claimed an effortless victory despite veering sharply from his line in the final stages of the six furlong contest run on soft ground.

Strong Suit, ridden by Richard Hughes, held off Ryan Moore and Approve by a short head for second.

English bookmakers cut Dream Ahead to as low as 5/1 for next year's 2,000 Guineas, once again stirring dreams of Classic success for Bin Dasmal who famously won the Epsom Derby in 1996 with Shaamit.

Buick, who seemed lost for words to describe the winner, said: "He's an amazing horse. I've been impressed with him ever since I rode him at Nottingham.

"He hung all the way across the track which is indicative of a baby, but he has given me a feel that no horse has ever given me - he swallows them up.

"Bring on next year. He's going to be hard to beat," Buick told British television. "Even when he hit the front and went nine lengths clear of them he'd still got his ears pricked. He will be all right when he keeps straight."

Winning trained David Simcock, whose modesty prevented him from getting carried away, added: "He's a very exciting horse and it's such a relief. I'm very lucky to have a horse like him. I'd like to think there's more to come and it's something to look forward to for next year.

Bin Dasmal is a former UAE tennis champion, a feat that was duplicated by his son Salem. Both his daughters Leila and Ameena, and younger son Mohammad are champion show-jumpers while his wife Lynn has been a leading figure with the Dubai Equestrian Centre.

In other races Hooray won the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes while Havant looked like a filly for the future when winning the Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes.
