Business & Finance Club - Dubai : Emcor, the Dubai-based facilities services group, has won an AED62m ($16.9m) contract to maintain more than 600 mosques across the Al Ain region.
The three-year contract, awarded by the Abu Dhabi government, will see more than 100 tradesmen provide electrical, mechanical and general maintenance work to 650 mosques, the firm said in a statement.
The Dubai-based group claims to have an AED1bn ($272m) order book in the GCC, spread across 600 projects. Existing clients include King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia and the Bahrain Financial Harbour.
Emcor, which employs more than 1,000 staff in the GCC, reports an annual turnover of AED367m ($99m).
