Business & Finance Club - Manama : The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has introduced 28 new scholarships to support the ongoing development of staff and young Bahrainis.

Bapco’s scholarship steering committee, which met under the chairmanship of Bapco chief executive Faisal Al Mahroos, said the scholarships would be effective as of next month and go to existing workers, secondary school graduates and Bahrain University undergraduates.

The new scholarships include eight awards to secondary school students who will study at international universities including the UK, US and Australia, eight to existing Bahrain University undergraduates and 12 to existing Bapco staff, including eight locals and four expatriates.

The introduction of the latest scholarships brought the total awards offered to 64.
