Business & Finance Club - Manama : Along the sidelines of the current Farnborough International Airshow taking place in the UK, Bahrain Airport Company, signed an agreement with the Civil Aviation Affairs to participate in the upcoming Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2012, due to be held in Sakhir, in January 2012.
"We are pleased to be amongst the first to confirm our participation in this major event, as it creates the ideal platform to showcase the progress of our development plans for Bahrain International Airport and the national aviation industry as a whole," commented Mr. Kamal Ahmed, Chairman of Bahrain Airport Company.
"BIAS 2012 will build on the success of the inaugural show, held earlier this year and will complement our efforts to promote Bahrain and its Airport as an international aviation hub," he continued.
Mr. Ahmed further enthused, "Bahrain Airport Company is a cornerstone in Bahrain's aviation industry, and we are looking forward to sharing our ambitions and vision with other stakeholders within the industry through this elite event. We are strongly committed to uplifting the Kingdom's aviation sector and sustaining Bahrain International Airport's position through operational excellence and world-class facilities. Our goal is to transform the Airport into a regionally renowned and globally competitive player within the industry."
Mr. Ahmed also took this opportunity to thank the Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee for the Bahrain International Airshow, HH Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his leadership, his efforts to bring established industry players to BIAS and his commitment to its success.
The agreement was signed between Mr. Ahmed and Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) and Deputy Chairman the Supreme Organising Committee for the BIAS, Captain Abdulrahman Al Gaoud, in the presence of HH Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It was signed as delegates from Bahrain Airport Company and the CAA were present with other leading Bahraini Government and industry officials at the Farnborough Airshow as part of the Bahrain pavilion.
