Business & Finance Club Magazine - Industrial Sector - Qatar -- HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah has inaugurated the Doha Cables Factory, a joint venture of Amal Company and AL Suwaidi Cables Company, in the presence of HE the Chairman of Amal Company Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani.
The inauguration ceremony took place during an official reception organized at the Doha Sheraton Hotel.
In a statement to reporters, HE Al Attiyah said the Doha Cables Factory will be a fruitful project and it demonstrates the effective role played by the private sector in the manufactory industries.
He noted that such a partnership between Amal Company and Al Suwaidi Cables Company would develop the small and medium projects in the industrial sector in Qatar.
He highlighted the important role of the private sector in Qatar s infrastructure and markets, noting that the Doha Cables Factory will positively contribute to the industrial field in Qatar and meet the growing demand on cables as a result of the rapid development of the country's infrastructure.
With a production capacity of 40,000 tonnes of copper per annum, the cables plant will manufacture a wide variety of power cables, flexible cables, building wires, overhead conductors, optical ground wires (OPGW), fiber optic cables alongside more specialized heat-resistant flexible cables, fire-resistant cables, flame retardant, lead sheathed and control cables.
The factory is equipped with some of the most technologically advanced cable manufacturing machines which will cut the delivery time allowing greater efficiency and cost effectiveness benefiting a number of infrastructure projects in Qatar. |
