Business & Finance Club Magazine - Industrial Sector - Qatar: Gulf Warehousing Company has announced that the first phase of its Logistics Village Qatar (LVQ) project will start operations by January 2011.
Gulf Warehousing Company is Qatar’s largest integrated logistics service provider.
In the first phase, about 70,300 sq m of “large warehouses”, which allow optimum storage with height reaching 13.5mts, are being developed. The warehouse area will range between 4,000sqm and 33,000sqm.
On completion, Logistics Village Qatar will span an area of 1mn sq m.
To cater to the small and medium sized businesses, the 12,870 sq m of “multi purpose warehouses” are master planned to facilitate efficiency of operations and future expansion with options to expand from 615 sq m to 3,600 sq m.
LVQ also provides readily-available staff accommodation to house some 1,552 senior and junior staff, ensuring a “quality living experience” closer to their workplaces.
“The operational frontlines are backed up by comprehensive infrastructure including waste water, water supply and high voltage networks, fire fighting system and fibre optic for internet connectivity, data centre, security systems and access controlled gates,” Gulf Warehousing Company said.
The purpose-built Logistics Village Qatar is strategically located in the Industrial Area and will be “welcoming” its clients to start operations by January 2011, it said.
“Logistics Village Qatar (LVQ) indicates Qatar’s push to remain globally competitive by offering investors value through business synergies, economies of scale and strong supporting infrastructure,” the company added.
