LogiPoint, a Saudi logistics real estate firm, announced its entry into a strategic alliance with United Warehouse Company (UWC) to construct a "Built-to-Suit" multipurpose facility in Jeddah covering 15,000 square meters. The UWC facility will be situated in the LogiPoint logistics center in Modon, Jeddah Industrial City 1.

LogiPoint, a globally renowned company, has founded itself as the kingdom's leading developer and operator of Logistics Parks and Zones, while UWC is one of the kingdom's leading third-party logistics providers, providing specialized logistic services to the industry. The Jeddah Logistics Hub (JLH) is a 120,000-square-meter fully integrated logistics app that allows people in the industrial area to maximize and standardize their logistics operations.

This state-of-the-art center will include frozen, cooled, atmospheric, and dry parts, allowing UWC to provide a wide range of warehousing clients, from meat and poultry to dairy, food products, and raw materials for production.

Building advanced distribution hubs and warehouses to help factories and companies in industrial areas and enable them to maximize supply chain benefits. According to a statement from LogiPoint, parking areas for 350 trucks and delivery vehicles guarantee smooth and effective operations even during rush periods.

Naturally, support services businesses such as facilities management, heavy machinery, and truck repair workshops, and other ancillary businesses contributing to the logistics hub tenants and consumers will be located at JLH, according to the statement.

According to Farooq Shaikh, CEO of LogiPoint, the logistics landscape in the kingdom is quickly evolving, and there is an increasing need to build logistics eco-systems that allow flexibility and productivity by reducing supply chain wastages along with cost.

"The JLH is a self-contained logistics eco-system, a future growth interface that enables our customers to set realistic ambitious goals in supply chain speed, quality, and service effectiveness. Our deal with UWC emphasizes the significance of strategic alliances in the design and delivery of next-generation innovative logistics solutions in the kingdom," Shaikh said.

"This is in line with our commitment to the Saudi Vision 2030 aim of converting the kingdom into a regional supply chain and logistics hub," he added.

Engineer Fathi Baisa, UWC's Managing Director, also said the logistics and industrial sectors were "twins" in terms of service incorporation, because "progress in the logistics system has a significant effect on the development of the manufacturing sector by increasing supply chain efficiency and speed."

"The deal is a major step toward achieving the Kingdom's 2030 vision for logistics system to convert the kingdom into a global logistics hub," he said.
