Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, emphasized the UAE and Montenegro's strong bilateral economic relations, saying that now the two nations have a distinctive collaboration in economic, commercial, cultural, and tourist fields, which is backed by their respective leaders.
This happened during his discussion with Jakov Milatovi, Montenegro's Minister of Economic Development, which took place at the ministry's head offices in Dubai.
During the conference, the parties committed to expanding their cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, renewable energy, transportation, entrepreneurship, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), innovation, sciences, creative industries, and the tourism industry. They also agreed to form a joint business council.
The parties further indicated a desire to expand trade and diversify economic cooperation, emphasizing the significance of expanding official and commercial delegation visits and generating business and investment prospects.
Al Zeyoudi portrayed key trade indicators between the two nations, noting that the UAE's exports to Montenegro increased by 110% in the same year and that the total value of their commerce in 2020 was more than $31.3 million, making the UAE Montenegro's largest trade partner in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
He also discussed the UAE's attempts to speed up restoration through a comprehensive economic strategy overseen by the Ministry of Economy and its local and international allies.
Milatovi emphasized the two nations' deep links and their desire to form a joint business council to further their economic collaboration, as well as his respect for the UAE's successful economic model and overall growth.
The parties agreed to encourage company owners and entrepreneurs from both nations to explore possibilities in their respective markets, and share expertise and form a strategy to enhance agricultural and food product commerce. They also agreed to encourage public and private organizations in their nations to pursue investment possibilities, particularly in the sectors of land and marine logistics.
Members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry may now use the ‘Business Online Presence' dashboard to create and validate their business profiles on Google Search and Maps for single or multiple destinations.
These web profiles provide critical company information like opening hours, contact information, address, and photos. Businesses may also publish timely discounts and marketing packages, throughout particular seasons, as per a webinar hosted by Dubai Chamber and Google, where the two collaborated to develop this digital solution.
The program will assist UAE businesses in managing their internet presence, increasing exposure, and attracting new consumers. Registered firms could also take advantage of the ‘Maharat Min Google' training program to learn the digital skills necessary to flourish online.
The dashboard, according to Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber, is a flexible and dependable solution that lets SMEs manage their online presence, reputation, and operations from a single platform. “The platform is built around the needs of local companies, allowing them to quickly contact new groups of clients who are actively looking for certain services and products.”
Buamim also said that the project is in line with the Chamber's continuing efforts to speed up digital transformation of businesses in Dubai, develop the emirate's digital economy, and boost the emirate's global economic competitiveness.
Lino Cattaruzzi, Google's Managing Director in the Middle East and North Africa, stated, "The pandemic has demonstrated the significant role digital tools can provide in a business's capacity to maneuver through difficult times - with a specific impact in certain industries like retail and tourism." As a result, we are delighted to continue our partnership with the Dubai Chamber, which began in 2018, and to offer a tangible solution that assists SMEs throughout the country in growing their presence online and learning digital skills to properly measure their businesses and attract potential customers.”
During the first half of 2021, DMCC welcomed 1,230 new member firms, the strongest 6-month record since 2013.
This builds on the free zone's outstanding success in 2020 when it recruited 2,025 new enterprises thanks to DMCC's relief packages amid the worldwide pandemic.
“We continued the record-breaking success of 2020 into 2021, with some other set of extraordinarily powerful results across all our pillars,” stated Ahmed bin Sulayem, DMCC's Executive Chairman, and CEO. “The figures speak for themselves, but with the recent inauguration of the DMCC Crypto Centre, which has sparked substantial interest in the worldwide crypto community, the second half of the year looks even brighter.
