Projects involving suspected cases of collusion reached upto SR1 billion

Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Zoom, Governor of the General Authority for Competition, indicated that the projects including allegations of alleged collusion totaled more than SR1 billion.

He said that the calculation is solely based on investigations conducted in different parts of the Kingdom.

According to Al-Zoom, the number of businesses determined to have collaborated in its bids and proposals all through the current year reached 86, up from 15 in 2019.

In an earlier statement, the authority stated that it was conducting investigations, research, evidence gathering, and investigations with a number of businesses based on communications received from numerous monitoring authorities, and also allegations from people and corporations.

According to the authority, it is endeavoring to organize seminars and awareness initiatives for procurement and contract divisions in both the public and private sectors.

This would further include verification techniques for detecting situations of bid collusion, and just about anything that overlaps with the Government Tenders and Procurement Law and the Competition Law.
