US is leading the global condemnation of the Houthi drone attack on Asir School

The US has joined the global criticism of the Houthi militia attack on a school in Saudi Arabia's Asir area on Sunday.

The weaponized drone shot by the Iran-backed militia from within Yemeni territory fell on a school with no casualties.

On Monday, the US Department of State published a statement condemning the Houthi attack.

“We vehemently oppose the Houthi drone strike that hit and destroyed a school in Saudi Arabia's Asir region. These strikes endanger civilians, notably schoolchildren. We join other countries in denouncing the attack and urging the Houthis to adhere to a long-term ceasefire,” the statement said.

On his official Twitter account, French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ludovic Pouille also criticized the drone attack, saying, “On behalf of the French Embassy in Saudi Arabia, I strongly oppose this dreadful, cowardly, and violent assault on a venue dedicated to science, knowledge, and education, where young minds are brought up.”

The Houthi attack on a school was also severely criticized by Saudi Arabia's Gulf supporters.

The UAE emphasized in a statement published by the foreign ministry on Sunday that the Houthis' continuous systematic terror strikes demonstrate their obvious disdain for the international community and all international rules and conventions.

The ministry asked the international community to take fast and decisive action to put an end to these recurring actions, which aim for essential infrastructure and endanger the Kingdom's security and stability, and worldwide energy supply.

It further stressed that the persistent danger of these assaults in recent days is a serious provocation that reflects additional proof of these militias' efforts to destabilise regional security and stability.

The UAE affirmed its entire support with Saudi Arabia in the aftermath of these insidious terrorist assaults, and its opposition to all attacks on the Kingdom's peace and stability.

The UAE further reiterated its backing for the Saudi authorities' efforts to ensure the security and safety of its people and residents.

The message emphasized that the protection of the UAE and Saudi Arabia are inseparable, and so any danger to the Kingdom is regarded as a challenge to the UAE's security and stability.

Bahrain's foreign ministry issued a statement on Monday condemning the continuous and systematic assaults on safe citizens and civic buildings, which breached international humanitarian law.

It reiterated Bahrain's unquestioning support for Saudi Arabia and all actions taken to combat the terrorist Houthi group and its criminal activities.

It also urged the international community to criticize such frequent terrorist actions that undermine efforts to maintain regional peace and stability.

According to Kuwait's foreign ministry, these terrorist actions pose a threat to Saudi Arabia's security and the region's equilibrium, and "are a hindrance to the international community's attempts to eliminate the situation in Yemen."

It further said that the assaults are often a violation of international humanitarian and legal standards. Kuwait pledged its full support for whatever steps Saudi Arabia takes to maintain its security, stability, and sovereignty.

Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait all criticized the Houthi militia on Monday for attacking Khamis Mushait with an explosive-laden drone.

Pakistan, another vital strategic partner of Saudi Arabia, has sharply criticized the Iranian-backed militia's continuous attacks on civilians and civilian property in the Kingdom.

In a statement issued on Monday, Pakistan's foreign ministry stated, "Pakistan strongly opposes the bomb-laden drone attacks initiated by the Houthi militia on the Asir region on June 11 and 13, adding that these assaults not just violate the sovereignty and integrity of the Kingdom but also endanger the innocent people's lives," emphasizing that Pakistan calls for an end to these kinds of assaults.

According to the statement, Pakistan reiterates its complete support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of any danger to its security and territorial integrity.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers likewise denounced the Houthi militia's frequent terrorist acts.

The Secretariat issued a statement saying on Monday that it applauds the excellent contribution performed by the troops of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen in combating the despicable terrorist efforts carried out by Houthi militia.

The secretariat emphasized its sympathy and support for Saudi Arabia and its backing for any steps taken by the Kingdom to protect its territory and ensure the security and safety of its inhabitants and inhabitants.
