An approved programme aimed to attract remote employees by UAE Cabinate

The UAE's federal cabinet has approved a new system that allows professionals to live in the Gulf state while working remotely for employers in other countries. Emirate of Dubai began this program in October.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and low oil prices, the UAE has taken several steps to attract wealthy foreigners, especially in Dubai, the country's business and tourism hub.

In a tweet on Sunday, Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also Dubai's ruler, said that a new work visa will cover for such professionals. He went on to say that the cabinet had also approved a multi-entry tourist visa for people of all nationalities.

Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum further adds that they are working with specific goals in mind to improve their global economic standing and provide the best possible quality of life for their people and residents. Foreigners, who make up the majority of the UAE's 9 million people, have traditionally been linked to jobs within the country, with employees sponsoring their families.
