The Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, reported that the fund has assisted in the funding of hundreds of development projects in Jordan worth Dhs6.5 billion, allowing the Jordanian government to accomplish its social and economic objectives while pushing the process of self-sustaining development.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the event of the UAE's involvement in Jordan's 100th-anniversary celebrations on April 11, Al Suwaidi said the fund has had strong ties with Jordan's government for more than 45 years and has been a real friend in funding strategic ventures that are national targets.

He went on to say that the fund's projects in Jordan have directly contributed to realizing the Jordanian government's visions and objectives, as well as supporting local development programs, noting that these projects focus on critical sectors such as education, health, transportation, energy, agriculture, irrigation, housing, and infrastructure, owing to the fund's desire to help developing nations.

The fund invested Dhs1.376 billion in energy-related growth ventures.

The fund has aided in the implementation of strategic water and irrigation projects worth Dhs237 million, which have had a positive impact on Jordan's economy. The fund contributes to Jordan's agricultural growth by funding three primary projects totaling Dhs135 million.

The funding helped in building a suitable infrastructure to promote trade and merchandise transport, strengthen economic ties between Jordan and the region and the rest of the world, establish new development regions in the country, and create an investment-friendly environment by funding a road network in line with global standards worth Dhs990 million.

The grant provided funding for eight health projects totaling Dhs1.089 billion in Jordan, intending to deliver advanced health care to a broader section of the population and bolstering Jordan's status as a regional medical and treatment hub.
