Sheikh Mohammed, Iraq's Prime Minister, addresses ways to improve cooperation

His Majesty Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi at Zabeel Palace on Sunday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties as well as several regional issues of mutual economic and security interest.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The meeting also looked into the possibility of expanding trade and investment cooperation between the two fraternal nations and sharing technical knowledge in the infrastructure sector.

Sheikh Mohammed said that the UAE is ready to provide logistical support to Iraq to help the country build its ports and enhance its services. He praised Iraq's esteemed past and the country's rich cultural heritage in literature, poetry, science, and medicine.

The Iraqi prime minister expressed his government's desire to benefit from the UAE's AI model in areas such as management, economy, finance, trade, and infrastructure, describing Dubai's experience as a framework for the region to pursue.

Al Kadhimi also shared his country's heartfelt gratitude for the UAE's assistance in restoring Iraq's war-damaged mosques, churches, and other historical sites.

On Sunday, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met with Dr. Mustafa Al Kadhimi, Prime Minister of Iraq, at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohamed and Al Kadhimi discussed ways to strengthen the UAE-Iraq relationship in different fields in the best interests of both countries.

The two country's cooperation in the areas of growth, economics, investment, and politics were discussed. They also looked for ways to expand collaboration in the areas of health, energy, and infrastructure, and collaboration on critical projects. Sheikh Mohamed and Iraq's Prime Minister discussed a variety of subjects.

Mustafa Al Kadhimi arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday for an official visit. When the Iraqi prime minister and his delegation arrived at Abu Dhabi's Presidential Airport, Sheikh Mohamed led an escort to greet them.

“It was a pleasure to welcome our brother, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Khadimi, to the UAE, where he is surrounded by relatives. Sheikh Mohamed tweeted, "I look forward to our fruitful discussions about the stability and growth of our brotherly nations."

The UAE and Iraqi national anthems were played before artillery fired 21 weapons in salute to the Iraqi prime minister, who was offered a red-carpet greeting.
