According to reports from five specialized global agencies, the UAE is one of the 20 leading countries in 13 global productivity indices relevant to entrepreneurship in 2020, a tribute to the UAE's forward-thinking entrepreneurship policies.
According to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC), the UAE's international achievements further include top-rankings in the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook, the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report, the Global Competitiveness Report 4.0, the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Score, and the Doing Business 2020 Report.
According to the reports, the UAE has succeeded in offering the best legislative and regulatory mechanisms to push entrepreneurship in the nation, whether it is in market resilience, the availability of venture resources, or the favorable environment for establishing SMEs, outperforming many leading global economies, including the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, Japan, and several others.
The International Institute for Administrative Development's IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook listed the UAE second in entrepreneurship, while the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report ranked it fourth in the venture capital availability index and fifth in the growth of creative companies’ index.
As per the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, the UAE placed sixth in the world incorporate mobility, venture funding, and investment capital indices.
The UAE also ranked sixth in the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report's attitudes toward entrepreneurial risk index and eighth in the time taken to launch a business index, thus ranking ninth in the SMEs and capital cost indices, tenth in the corporate debt index, and eleventh in the overall early-stage entrepreneurial activity index.
The UAE's impressive record of success in entrepreneurship over the last year has seen it become one of the world's most forward-thinking countries in the field, aided by an appealing and streamlined legislative framework and ambitious policies and programs that promote entrepreneurial ventures and stimulate their development, turning them into a major contributor to the UAE's non-oil GDP.
UAE will serve as a gateway: President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Osmar Chohfi, praised the UAE's achievements in building logistic infrastructure and smart cities.
Chohfi said in an interview with Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the sophisticated and appealing business and investment ecosystems, especially through the incorporation of trade license application systems like the “Invest in Dubai” platform, preventing double taxation on transactions, and building high-level free zone infrastructure, have been further reinforced the country's positive context.
These interventions, he added, have also "built stable frameworks for a more dynamic potential partnership among Brazil and the UAE."
“Due to its world-class logistics system, free zones, strategic geographic position, and extensive international trade deals, the UAE can also serve as a portal for Brazil to enter other major Arab markets and core European, Asian, and even North American countries. Moreover, through trade relations with the UAE, Brazil is allowed to capitalize on the increasing global desire for halal product”, Chohfi said.
“We understand that Dubai and the UAE are regarded as a center for investments in the area for a variety of reasons,” he said. Global investors are attracted to different issues like quality of life, clear dedication to technology and sustainability growth, new urban centers, and attempts to create a more stable future when deciding to bring their business to the region. It also benefits that the UAE government is constantly searching for creative avenues to create a more favorable economic climate to produce new demand and continually draw a larger number of buyers and the best foreign talents.”
“In terms of smart city growth and the enhancement of other focus sectors, Brazil, especially its large cities, has so much to learn from Dubai, the UAE, and the whole of the Arab region.” As a result, one of our mission at the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce would be to promote collaboration between the Arab world and Brazil, whether by the exchange of perspectives, the joint advancement of solutions, such as agriculture and food processing technology, the exchange of goods and services, or the enhancement of culture and leisure, besides other things,” he said.
ABCC, according to Chohfi, is looking for innovative ways to reinforce its technological partnership and trade arrangements, foster smart cities, and boost capital investments.
