The 2021 US Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership Award for the Middle East was presented to King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), the region's only properly integrated energy hot spot, in recognition of SPARK's leadership style and contribution to the establishment of sustainable, healthier, equitable, and durable buildings, cities, and communities.

SPARK has implemented sophisticated building techniques that are ecologically sustainable and maximize long-term efficiency to serve as a gateway upon which the world's energy industry may create a unified future.

SPARK is the first body in the Kingdom and the region to pioneer the use of several cutting-edge technologies, guaranteeing that durability stays at the core of growth.

SPARK is the world's first industrial city to get Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification, showcasing its dedication to ecologically responsible architecture and construction techniques.

LEED, the most well-acknowledged green building grading system, was established by the US Green Building Council and provides a foundation for construction and building solutions that target to decrease environmental effects, restrict resource usage, minimize carbon pollution, and address climate change.

The 2021 USGBC Leadership Award winners reflect the finest of the USGBC's 10,000 member organization, a network of dedicated professionals of over 106,000 LEED commercial projects in even more than 180 countries and territories worldwide.

SPARK had also been awarded four ISO certificates by world testing, examination, and certification leader Bureau Veritas for integrated management system certification programs and asset management systems that reduce costs, ensure maximum return on investment and maximize growth all through asset lifespans, in addition to the USGBC 2021 Leadership Award.
