Saudi Arabia has firmly criticized the brazen attacks that were carried out by Israeli troops, which violated the sacredness of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and put worshipers' safety and protection at risk.

The Saudi foreign ministry, strongly expressed in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency early Thursday, appealed on the international community to keep Israel responsible for the escalation and called for an urgent halt to all retaliatory measures that violate international truce and agreements.

The ministry stressed that the Kingdom will continue to stand with the Palestinians and supports all attempts to resolve the conflict and reach a just and substantive solution to the Palestinian problem, allowing the Palestinian people to build their independent Palestinian state on the 1967 boundaries, with East Jerusalem as its capital, that will be in compliance with UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
