Saudi Arabia is a key player in having Sudan's debts exempted: Sudan's Minister of Finance

Dr. Gibriel Ibrahim, Sudan's Minister of Finance, announced that Saudi Arabia is performing a crucial role in getting Sudan's foreign debts at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a host of Arab funds exempted, acknowledging Saudi Arabia's efforts to exclude Sudan from a chart of terror-sponsoring nations.

The Sudanese finance minister said on Wednesday at a Ramadan Iftar (breakfast) banquet organized by Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Sudan Ali Bin Hassan Jaafar at his home in Khartoum that Sudan is seeking forward to advancing its new relationship with Saudi Arabia to a strategic partnership level that will strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.

Taking advantage of the potentials and prospects accessible in the two countries qualifies them to have the ideal framework for ensuring Arab food security, according to the minister.

Ambassador Jaafar, in his role, said that Saudi Arabia is attempting to expand joint economic cooperation with Sudan and increase investments in different fields in compliance with the two countries' leaders' guidelines in such a manner that enhances the two brotherly nations and people, and that the Kingdom will actively engage in the forthcoming Friends of Sudan Conference in Paris.
