Mohamed Bin Zayed and Egypt's President Sisi to discuss recent regional developments

His Majesty Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Egypt's President Abdel Fatah Al Sisi met in Cairo on Saturday to discuss the two countries' deep ties and the opportunities for enhancing coordination and centralizing joint action on all platforms.

In the presence of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Egyptian president invited Sheikh Mohamed and his accompanying delegation, where they discussed the new regional and international advancements of significance. At the conference, the two sides addressed the new developments in the global fight against COVID-19, as well as the two countries' attempts to contain the pandemic's aftermath.

At the start of the conference, Sheikh Mohamed and Egypt's president exchanged Ramadan greetings and appealed to Allah Almighty to bless the peoples of the two continents, the Arab and Islamic worlds, and mankind in general with more harmony and prosperity. Sheikh Mohamed expressed President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's greetings to Egypt's president, wishing him continued good health and welfare, and more success and development for the Egyptian people. Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to maintaining continuous lines of cooperation and consultations with Egypt on how to resolve regional problems and emergencies.

Sisi, for his role, reiterated Egypt's strong and principled stance against the Gulf's defense, and its condemnation of all activities that undermine its sustainability. He went on to say that Sheikh Mohamed's visit strengthens the two countries' long-standing and strategic ties, along with their mutual action in the best interests of their communities and their goals for greater growth and prosperity.

Sisi organized an Iftar feast in appreciation of Sheikh Mohamed and his associated delegation, which included Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company, Ali Bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Crown Prince's Cousin, and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazroue.

Following the conference, Sheikh Mohamed was escorted out of Cairo by Egypt's president.
