Sharjah's Sultan boosts the minimum salary for Emiratis to Dhs25000

His Majesty Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has increased the minimum remuneration for Emiratis in Sharjah to Dhs25,000, up from Dhs17,500 now.

The increase represents a 43 % raise.  The rise is the result of a Sharjah government analysis of inhabitants' living standards. “After researching with the Department of Social Services, we boosted salaries to Dh25,000,” Sheikh Sultan announced on the Sharjah Media Office's Twitter account. This derives from his commitment to guaranteeing that members of society have a reasonable living standard.

Sheikh Sultan stated, "There still are individuals who quit for various reasons, and those who were fired, and I would not let them crumble." In addition, some housewives want to work, and I'm doing everything I can to assist them.”

“After completing research with the Social Services Department, we boosted the salary to Dhs25,000,” he stated. “I looked at all of the specifics of individual and family spending to determine how much income could give a decent life,” Sultan continued.

“If living expenditures rise, we will perform a fresh research to ensure that incomes are compatible with life's necessities.” If low-wage employees are impacted, I would not disappoint them.”

Sheikh Sultan authorized Dhs51,907,000 on Sunday to resolve 99 cases for residents of the emirate in multiple categories as part of the emirate's 20th group of settlements to be delivered to the Sharjah Debt Settlement Committee.

The initiative is being carried out following Sharjah Ruler's directions to offer a sustainable and respectable living for its inhabitants. Rashid Ahmed Bin Al Sheikh, Chief of the Sharjah Emiri Court and Chairman of the Committee, stated that the committee has authorized to repay the debts for people in multiple categories. “The total sum handled for 1,576 recipients since the initial payments are Dhs786,786,153,” he said.

Sheikh Sultan issued Emiri Decree No. (7) of 2021 last week, modifying Emiri Decree No. (20) of 2019 concerning the reform of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council (SUPC). As per the new Emiri Decree, the new SUPC Board of Directors will be chaired by Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, with Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi representing as Vice Chairman and Director of the Council.
