Sheikha Salama, an Emirati author, has launched her book at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

Sheikha Salama Bint Hazza Al Nahyan, an acclaimed Emirati author, will attend this year's Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) and Paris Book Fair "Livre Paris" to officially launch her new book, "The Horse, The Saluki, and The Falcon."

The renowned author made her writing debut in 2019 with the release of her first novel, "The Invisible Orphans," followed by four more children's books that pay homage to the author's Emirati culture and heritage.

Sheikha Salama Bint Hazza Al Nahyan will take the stage this year to present her most recent work, which is full of stories and lessons.

The ADIBF, the region's most prestigious and diverse book fair, aims to highlight the UAE's rich heritage and culture by showcasing the country's authenticity and modernity through the participation and recognition of renowned writers.

The book fair was initiated 29 years ago by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has earned a global reputation as a leading literary trade and cultural event in the country. It will take place this year from May 23 to May 29.

Salama will introduce ‘The Horse, The Saluki, & The Falcon' in one of Europe's most prestigious cultural gatherings, Livre Paris 2021, in addition to launching the book at ADIBF.

The Horse, The Saluki, and The Falcon, the renowned author's latest addition to her book releases, is a series of quotes that seeks to shed light on the universe's positivity and the silver linings of the life we lead, during a time of increasing global uncertainty.

The Horse, The Saluki, and The Falcon pay homage to her homeland by transforming well-known Emirati animals into wise icons who teach lessons in empathy, compassion, and kindness.

Sheikha Salama draws stylistic inspiration from Charlie Mackesy's critically acclaimed novel The Kid, The Mole, The Fox, and The Horse. This new book marks the author's foray into writing for a more adult readership. Since the Salon du Livre in Paris was canceled last year due to Covid-19, the publication of the author's most recent book was postponed to 2021.

About the Author:

Sheikha Salama Bint Hazza AlNahyan is an Abu Dhabi-based Emirati author. She started writing when she was 21 years old, and her first children's book was released in 2019. She has five books out and is currently working on a young adult fantasy novel. In the author's writing process, art plays a significant role in character expression and world-building. Salama Bint Hazza's goal is to develop as a writer while also inspiring others along the way.
