Among the 136 people arrested for corruption are employees of seven ministries

Saudi Arabia's anti-graft office announced on Sunday that 136 persons, including locals and foreigners, working in various fields had been detained for alleged wrongdoing.

The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) stated in a statement that the suspects comprised of workers from the defence, interior, National Guard, health, justice, municipal and rural affairs, housing, and education ministries.

Bribery, misuse of authority, and forgery were among the allegations leveled against all of them. They were apprehended during 914 inspection operations that have been conducted by Nazaha squads throughout the month of Shawal.

The accused were apprehended after a detailed by inquiry by the Nazaha officials into the suspected participation of 562 persons. Nazaha stated that now the legal procedures are being finished before they are sent to the courts.
