J&J and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines have been cleared for usage

Coronavirus vaccinations manufactured by American businesses Johnson & Johnson and Moderna have now been approved by Saudi officials for arriving tourists, as per the Ministry of Health (MoH) on Tuesday.

The ministry further stated that Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are the only ones licensed for use in an emergency within the Kingdom.

So far, the ministry has certified that it has provided more than 11.8 million shots of coronavirus vaccinations through 587 immunization facilities across Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Weqaya) declared on Sunday that all travelers, residents, and tourists who have waited 14 days after finishing their doses of vaccinations allowed in Saudi Arabia do not need to quarantine themselves upon arrival.

Furthermore, from May 20, all people above the age of 8 must provide a PCR COVID-19 test negative result for a sample collected no more than 72 hours before their intended departure into the Kingdom.

As per the Saudi Ministry of Interior, Weqaya further stated that non-Saudis who have not finished their vaccination doses approved in the Kingdom will face institutional quarantine procedures.
