Through a Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) defining cooperative marketing actions to promote the nation, Emirates has offered its assistance for tourism in Indonesia.

The MoC was signed at the Arabian Travel Market 2021 by Orhan Abbas, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations - Far East at Emirates, and Nia Niscaya, Deputy Minister for Marketing, Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. K. Candra Negara, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Chief Commercial Officer, were also present at the signing event.

With Indonesia already been an essential part of the Emirates network since 1992, the two companies will collaborate on collaborative marketing that will help both the airline and tourism for Indonesian locations, highlighting their attractiveness to travelers and holiday-makers. Based on the long-standing and beneficial connection that Emirates has had with Indonesia over the years, and the success of its routes to Jakarta and Bali, Emirates intends to build on previous accomplishments and assist in the recovery period as constraints are relaxed, in regards to making vital contributions to the country's tourist sector.

By forming the new partnership, both parties have pledged to deepen their connection through partnerships on strategies and business endeavors that will highlight what the places want to offer and have a good influence on the tourist sector and economy.

The agreement calls for Emirates and the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to collaborate on marketing activities such as support for attendance at tourism trade shows and fairs, trade familiarisation tours, product presentations and workshops, advertising campaigns, and the provision of logistical support, among many other things, as Indonesia prepares to welcome back international travelers.

Emirates started operations in Indonesia in 1992, with the inauguration of a route to Jakarta, and extended its frequency to twice-daily flights in 2010. With the addition of Bali to its network in 2015, the airline began servicing its second Indonesian location with nonstop daily flights. Emirates inaugurated its connected service connecting Bali and Auckland in 2018, making it easier for New Zealanders to explore the exotic island location.

Emirates and flydubai codeshare to give travelers additional alternatives. Towards end of May, Emirates and flydubai airlines would have a merged network of 168 destinations, providing additional convenience, choice, and flawless connection for travelers throughout their combined connection.

Nearly 500,000 passengers have traveled on the combined network since the relaunch of the airlines' codeshare relationship in September 2020.

Kabul, Kathmandu, Kyiv, the Maldives, and Zanzibar are some of the most popular destinations booked through the codeshare.

“The Emirates and flydubai collaboration continue to expand gradually to provide travelers additional better connection to Dubai and via Dubai to a broad worldwide network,” said Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group and Chairman of flydubai.

“We are witnessing significant client demand and are pleased to take the collaboration to the next level by growing services to other locations.” The tight relationship between Emirates and flydubai helps Dubai as a business, leisure, and aviation center by providing better connectivity and travel flows from the combined network from both carriers as it continues to securely welcome tourists from all around the world. We are convinced that both airlines will reconstruct their networks even better as they navigate their way back towards rebound", he said.

Emirates customers can fly on codeshare flights to over 56 different flydubai destinations, while flydubai customers can fly to over 82 different Emirates destinations. Customers can also benefit from an expanded schedule that spans 30 locations offered by both airlines.

flydubai announced recently the restart of flights to 12 Russian cities, five Iranian cities, and seasonal destinations in Georgia, Turkey, and Montenegro, with extra locations scheduled to be declared in the following months as countries open their boundaries for business and tourists.

Both airlines are adding more flight schedules as 16 more countries open up for international tourism with quarantine-free entrance, including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Djibouti, Finland, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Serbia, Tanzania, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

Beginning May 21, Emirates passengers will benefit from enhanced schedules and connectivity to 22 flydubai destinations from Terminal 3. Among the destinations are Basra, Belgrade, Bucharest, Kyiv, Odesa, Prague, Salalah, Sofia, and Zanzibar.

Emirates and flydubai provide travel experiences and in-flight amenities that are tailored to the value creation of each unique brand while emphasizing the health and safety of employees and travelers on the ground and in flight.
