A Pledge Of $430m is done by Saudi Arabia to the Response of UN’s Yemen

New York: On Monday, Saudi Arabia pledged a whopping amount of $430 million to the response of UN with respect to humanitarian crisis rose in Yemen.

The Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, made this grand announcement at the virtual pledge conference co-organized by Switzerland and Sweden. 

He revealed at the conference, “Just because of their eagerness to diminish the rate of suffering of Yemeni citizens, I promised to pledge $430 million on behalf of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for supporting Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan 2021 to impose with the cooperation of the regional and local NGOs, international organizations and UN agencies.” 

He also added the Kingdom will offer full assistance and support to the millions of needy people to achieve the goal to lessening the affects of humanitarian crisis.

He continued to reveal that Saudi Arabia leads the list of top donor subcontinents in terms of offering humanitarian aid both internationally and regionally, especially in Yemen.

“Today, we conduct the conference here amidst numerous ongoing challenges politically, medically and economically that brought to us by the Coronavirus pandemic along encountering the Yemen’s humanitarian crisis,” he disclosed.   

Also, he continue to say that the crisis receive a great escalation due to the Houthi militia backed by Iran and the latest offensive Marib governorate, which was used to the safest haven for intricate displaced people.

As per Al- Rabeeah, “the Houhi militia scales up the terrorist activities for threatening neighboring subcontinents”.

He refers to the heightened frequency of the cross-border attacks mainly keeping the civilian regions of Saudi Arabia in target.

“A resolute and firm stand needs to be taken by the international community for the protection of the Yemeni people to attain a sustainable solution in terms of development, stability and security for the country and ultimately of course for the whole world in future”, said by Al-Rabeeah.

Total amount of $1.7B has been pledged at the conference among $3.85B which was appealed by the UN.
