Expo 2020 Dubai is getting its first specialized 3D printing facility

The much-anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai will feature the world's first specialized 3D printing facility. Following a meeting of the Dubai Executive Council on Sunday, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, made the announcement.

Sheikh Hamdan presided over The Executive Council meeting on Sunday, in which he authorized the development of a specialized, combined 3D printing section at the Dubai Expo location.

The meeting was joined by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

The 3D printing zone intends to draw companies and investors to Dubai while also allowing researchers to create inventions utilizing this technology. The establishment of this highly specialized sector represents the goals of Dubai's 3D printing strategy, which was introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and aims to strengthen Dubai's status as a global hub for 3D printing in partnership with the private sector and to elevate Dubai's position as a responsible global player in determining the future of 3D printing.

“By initiating such projects, we want to accomplish a massive leap in the growth of future-oriented sectors, which may have a big beneficial influence on sustainable growth,” stated the Crown Prince. This program is also part of our endeavors to strengthen Dubai's status as a worldwide centre for future technologies and R&D".

“We are opening the first dedicated 3D printing zone to aid in the execution of Dubai's 3D printing plan and the development of this technology in the regional market.”

The Council approved DHA's physiotherapy and rehabilitation strategy, which is based on world best practices. In conjunction with the commercial sector, the initiative strives to increase physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in Dubai.

In addition, the Council established a new higher education regulatory strategy targeted at recruiting foreign university branches to Dubai. KHDA's strategy is to strengthen Dubai's developing status as a worldwide higher education centre by providing new educational possibilities through foreign institutions founded in Dubai.

Because of its robust education programs and advantageous regulations enacted by the government to assist the industry, Dubai has risen as a favored location for higher learning institutions and students.
