Saudi Arabia introduced the first industrial respirator made in the Kingdom to international standards.

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Industrial Development, Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, all participated the inauguration ceremony.

It would be in the framework of distinguishing industry and mineral wealth system activities in medical industries, and also establishing self-sufficiency in fundamental medical industries.

"Today, we are delighted to witness a quality success that joins our country's continual successes, with the launching of the first industrial respirator with international criteria, constructed with the honor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," Al-Khorayef stated.

He emphasized that such an accomplishment is proof of our industry's climb to new heights, and continuity of the industrial sector's reaction towards the demand for health equipment and also the necessity for them in the current moment in which we've been dealing with the repercussions of the epidemic.

"Such crucial step comes at the same time when the world is experiencing significant problems as a result of the pandemic's ongoing ramifications and the consequences it will have on regular supply chains," he added.

He emphasized that the Kingdom's reaction to the epidemic was praised by international authorities and organizations and that this was supported by the quick reaction of national industries to deliver medical supplies and satisfy the high requirements on time.
