According to Formula 1, the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be held on the sport's fastest street circuit. The track, which is located about seven miles north of Jeddah on the coast, will be the second-longest on the F1 calendar, measuring 6.175 kilometers.

According to simulations, the average lap speed would be 155 mph, one of the fastest on an F1 circuit. The track can "provide thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing for our fans," according to F1 managing director Ross Brawn.

Is 2021 going to be a Mercedes-Red Bull showdown?

Brawn continued: "The layout blends the best features of a modern street circuit with fast-paced, free-flowing sections that will allow for high speeds and overtaking opportunities. This place, on the Red Sea, is mind-blowing."

The race weekend is set for December 3rd to 5th. There will be 27 corners on the circuit, with a mix of high-speed S-bends and chicanes. This race will be held in Saudi Arabia until a new purpose-built track in Qiddiyah is ready, which is anticipated to be done in 2023.
