Over 71 million school textbooks have been distributed by the Ministry of Education

More than 71 million textbooks have been distributed by the Ministry of Education to education departments in multiple regions and governorates across the Kingdom. As part of the ministry's efforts to prepare for the new academic year, a total of 71,863,645 textbooks for all school levels of education for the first semester would be provided.

The ministry had finished the different stages of constructing curriculum for all phases, and monitoring and evaluating them, printing them and following up on their distribution following a timetable that ensures they reach all schools across all regions of the Kingdom before the commencement of the school year.

The ministry's strategic development team is continuing its endeavors to transition to digital curriculum and substitute paper books with smart devices in a phased approach beginning with the upcoming academic year.

The textbooks include the recently announced primary English curriculum materials, a book on life skills and family skills, digital skills, and critical thinking, and teacher's guidebooks for basic self-defense tactics at the primary level, the common annual curricula in secondary schools, and the development and revised version of Islamic studies curriculum.

That's in addition to social studies, and it seeks to improve enrichment, applications, and training in science and mathematics.

The ministry has printed a total of 70,105,700 textbooks for public education schools, comprising of 28,452,093 textbooks for the elementary stage, 14,767,573 textbooks for the intermediate stage, and 26,886,034 textbooks for the second phase.

This has completed publishing 187,266 textbooks for Holy Qur'an memorization schools, and 375,125 textbooks for adult education, illiteracy eradication, kindergartens, and the illiterate community initiative.

In addition, the ministry has printed 28,100 Braille textbooks for the visually impaired and 22,541 student activity books for intellectual education institutes and programs throughout all levels; 1,054,539 teaching materials for international schools; 55,134 textbooks for Saudi schools abroad; 160,350 textbooks for Arab schools in Djibouti; 62,156 self-defense teacher's guidebooks, and 3,500 textbooks in Chinese.
