In partnership with Movenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai, global art incubator ZeeArts has opened a Ramadan art exhibition with a clear message of hope, collaborating with UAE-based artists. The artworks depict imagination via a variety of mediums from artists from all across the world. Each of the creations is related to the theme and was created in a variety of mediums such as oil, acrylic, mixed media, and paint. ZeeArts has a history of presenting a Ramadan Art Exhibition year after year.
“Ramadan seems like a time to reconnect with family and friends. We at ZeeArts agree that art is a bridge that brings people closer. Because we're amid the pandemic, we are searching for Hope and Healing. Art has defied the present pandemic, in which our social and cultural relations, climate, and our education have all been shredded. It is now at the helm and has proven to be a universal tongue. It promotes a spirit of healing, happiness, and hope. “This show will not only be aesthetic, but it will also involve visitors coming for Iftar,” confirms curator and ZeeArts Founder Zaahirah Muthy.
With a mission to connect creative people from various disciplines through artistic programs and projects, ZeeArts' annual calendars are jam-packed with events such as exhibitions and art fairs, artist empowerment activities, arts, and cultural retreats, art talks, and socially active art projects that bring together artists, curators, art dealers and writers, collectors, and private collectors. “We want to thank Movenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai for sponsoring this project and fostering arts to transform Dubai into an art hub,” Muthy says. The show is open daily from May 1 to 15 at Movenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai. It is housed on the hotel's ground floor and serves as a visual complement to the impressive Iftar buffet, which is also available at a fair price!
Khaled Zaytoun and Mohamed Alshimi from Egypt, who've already done several shows in Egypt and Saudi Arabia; Linda Mohamed from Egypt, a self-taught artist who plays with materials and forms such as resin, textured painting, sculpture art, and portrait; and Pari Sagar from India, whose source of inspiration is Nature, are among the participating artists.
“Nature has its playful dancing that represents vivid emotions like lust, passion, harmony, and tranquility with a dash of spirituality,” she says. “The colors, lines, and shapes are intended to express the impression of being in contact with Nature.”
Alia Medhat, an Egyptian artist, is specialized in depicting human emotions in her work. Anna Z Alexandra, of Ukraine, deals in acrylic abstracts. Her inspiration derives from her own experiences and the colors and shapes seen in nature. She is focused to use her artwork to explore empathy as a visual language. Esma Stasiak of Poland is especially fond of abstract painting, which she prefers to display in large forms on canvas. Tania Nasir from Pakistan says, "My style is the renaissance of old traditional design that was practiced in manuscript illumination." I want to revive this tradition of modern art.
“This style of painting was used in Art Nouveau and Ottoman and Mughal ateliers. Art, to me, is a medium of mediation that transports the imagination to places where reality cannot. Art communicates in places where words cannot.”
Shadab Khan, an Indian artist, is also displaying her work. Her work is distinguished by bright colors, contrasting forms, and bold representations. Syria's Valia Abou Alfadel says, "Love is my message." All is more precious as it is surrounded by love.” Cristina Grigore, a Romanian, currently resides in Dubai. She enjoys experimenting with various mediums and forms, and she strives to share her feelings of liberation through her work. Nevine Meguid is an Egyptian-Australian who lives in Dubai.
She is inspired by style elements used in Arabic calligraphy. Masooma Razvi, a Pakistani artist, is a keen observer and adventurer whose paintings are inspired by the everyday objects that surround us. Her work is intended to convey the message of 'Awakening' and 'Introspection.' She expresses herself through Turkish dervishes and incorporates Arabic calligraphy into her compositions to add meaning to her ideas.
Bushra Malik mostly paints in oils and acrylics, and her paintings strive to portray movement and life. Mysticism and spirituality have always piqued her interest and encouraged her. The desire or desperation of the spirit to communicate with a higher power is the inspiration for the majority of her works. Dr. Hoda Gharib is an Egyptian artist who specializes in printmaking, sculpture, and illustration.
She has worked as a professional illustrator for a variety of comic books, novel covers, weekly magazines, and story series for a variety of respectable publishers in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. Yasmin Naeem, a talented artist and Arabic calligrapher from Pakistan, is inspired by her Saudi and Pakistani heritage. She is enthralled by the arts of the Islamic world.
Naeem's work is a synthesis of abstract and modernist drawing styles, and also ancient Islamic illustration, arabesque shapes, calligraphy, and sacred geometry. Anastasie Akibode, a French artist with African origins, was born in Senegal. Her introduction to various cultures is the impetus behind her quest for a common, universal art context. It also helps to integrate her theme.
