In 2020, 51,000 Saudi women out of 74,000 Saudis have joined the employment market

Approximately 74,000 Saudis will join the local labor force by 2020, with 51,000 of them being women.

The overall number of Saudis who joined the labor market in 19 industries in the previous year was 93,117. However, 19,350 of these workers quit the working population, taking the overall number of Saudi men and women in the labor force to 73,767. Many that quit their employment came from four industries, including 15,725 men and women from the education industry.

Following Okaz/Saudi Gazette surveillance, it was discovered that 14,868 Saudi men and women joined the administrative and support services industry in the previous year. The number of Saudis working in the housing and catering services industry was 13,249, with 13,196 workings in public administration, security, and social insurance, and 11,574 workings in downstream sectors.

Saudi women held the majority of the jobs created in 2020, with 51,009 women joining the workforce compared to 22,758 men. The administrative and support services industry had the greatest rise in the number of women, with a 10,284 Saudi woman increase in the number of employees.

A total of 9,007 Saudi women were hired in the wholesale and retail trade, and car repair, while 7,872 were hired in the construction sector and 6,662 were hired in the manufacturing jobs sector.

The most influential sector in which Saudi men have worked in public administration, security, and compulsory social insurance, which employs 10,475 people. This is accompanied by the downstream industries sector, which employs 4,912 people, the shipping and storage industry, which employs 4,465 people, and the human health and social welfare sector, which employs 4,349 people.
