Sheikh Mohammed welcomes everyone in Dubai as the world's first in-person tourist event kicks off

Everyone is welcomed in Dubai.” As the Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2021) opened on Sunday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai issued an open invitation.

“62 nations joined today in the Arabian Travel Market, a worldwide mega tourism event ever since COVID-19 outbreak,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted. Dubai welcomes the whole world as global tourism recovers, symbolizing the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, and Chairman of Dubai World, formally unveiled ATM 2021, kicking off the 28th edition of the Middle East's biggest travel and tourist expo.

This year's expo has 1,300 exhibitors from 62 countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy, Germany, Cyprus, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, the Maldives, the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, and the United States, demonstrating the breadth of our reach.

With the year 2021 bringing in a new era for travel and tourism, major industry leaders from all across the world began off the debate on the ATM Global Stage by digging into the causes behind the sector's swift recovery.

In the meantime, Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, and Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, paid a visit to Ajman Tourism's pavilion at the ATM, which provided insights into Ajman's vision 2021 and its initiatives and plans to accomplish it.

Dr. Al Falasi was also informed on the significant tourism initiatives that the emirate is giving to strengthen its standing as a tourist destination that draws visitors and tourists from all over the globe, as well as the department's duty in shining a light on Ajman's cultural and tourist resources, and the remarkable tourism experiences it offers to its guests.
