To symbolize its heritage, Saudi Arabia introduces lavender-colored ceremonial carpets

Princess Tarfa

Saudi Arabia has reported that the color of ceremonial carpets will be modified from standard red to lavender to celebrate the country's national identity.

Saudi Arabia recently declared that the color of ritual carpets will be changed from conventional red to lavender to honor the country's national identity.

The project is henceforth collaboration between both the Ministry of Culture and Royal Protocol, and it comes on the heels of other national projects, such as the publishing of an art procurement guide for government departments and organizations. Lavender is synonymous with blossoming wildflowers that cover the Kingdom's desert landscapes throughout the spring and is a representation of Saudi hospitality in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The initiative also aims to represent the Kingdom's transition, as it has been exemplified by Vision 2030, as well as its future ambitions for the country.

The Ministry of Culture aims to recognize and encourage the Kingdom's national emblems by bringing them forth to the rest of the world through projects like these.

Wild lavender flowers are a well-known motif in the Kingdom. They bring a splash of color to the rugged desert scenery, representing the flower's power, hardiness, and intrinsic elegance, a symbol of the Saudi nation's toughness.

The lavender carpets will indeed be decorated with traditional Al Sadu designs. It will be integrated by the special Saudi weaving method that has been on UNESCO's Representative List of Humanity's Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The ceremonial carpets would also serve as a welcome expression for visiting dignitaries demonstrating true Saudi hospitality and humility.
