Dubai sizzles under 49°C, while Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Sharjah experiences rain

On Wednesday, heavy rain fell in different areas of the UAE, lowering the temperature by a few degrees. Heavy rain fell in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Dibba — Masafi Road. Sharjah also experienced light rain.

Around 4 p.m., light to moderate rain fell in Al Madam, Alfaya, and Al Nazwa, but even though the temperature remained high in the city centre. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) of the UAE published footage of rain in the different Emirates.

However, there has been no rain in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The average daytime temperature in Sharjah was approximately 34°C. Residents and workers are recommended to hydrate themselves frequently to avoid sickness.

The maximum temperature recorded in the UAE on Wednesday was 49°C in Saih Al Salem, Dubai, at 2 pm local time, according to the NCM.

At 5:15 p.m. local time, the lowest temperature recorded in the nation was 24.8°C in Barakah, Al Dhafrah Region.

On Wednesday morning, the weather service stated, “A probability of convective clouds development could well be accompanied with rainfall and fresh winds, which may well be strong at times, generating blowing dust and decreasing horizontal vision at times over some Eastern areas from 13:00 until 19:00.”
