Farabi Petrochemicals won the ‘Best Environmental Performer' among Jubail Primary Industries for the second year in a row

Farabi Petrochemicals recently received the prestigious Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu Best Environmental Performance Award between Jubail Primary Industries; first place in 2019 and third place in 2020 during an Environment Day ceremony hosted by the Royal Commission in Jubail, Saudi Arabia on June 6, 2021.

The award, presented by Engr. Mustafa AlMahdi, CEO of the Royal Commission for Jubail, and accepted by Engr. Mohamed AlWadaey, CEO of Farabi Petrochemicals, honors Farabi's distinguished performance as the top petrochemical firm in Jubail's downstream hydrocarbon processing sectors.

"It gives me great joy to be acknowledged for our continuous work on low-carbon economic systems and sustainable production." Farabi Petrochemicals CEO Mohammed AlWadeay. "These achievements demonstrate our dedication to a carbon-neutral circular economy as we continue to offer on our promise of creating value through chemistry."

The award is given out on an annual basis as part of the celebration of World Environment Day, which is held on June 5th each year. After the celebration in 2019 was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Sunday event was designated to honor both the 2019 and 2020 winners.

Farabi Petrochemicals has won four honors in the previous six years. Farabi took second place in 2015 and first position in 2016.

Farabi Petrochemicals, based in Jubail Industrial City, runs two world-scale Normal Paraffin (N-Paraffin) plants and three world-scale Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) facilities, in addition to its specialty oils and specialty chemicals units in Yanbu Industrial City. The firm uses UOP Technology to manufacture greener feeds and is now the world's largest N-Paraffin and second-largest LAB producer.
