The Friends of Diabetes Association, a wellness-promoting association under Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs' Health Promotion Department, donated Dhs200,000 to the Emirates Red Crescent's Diabetes Clinic.

In the presence of Dr. Ilham Al-Amiri, Vice-President of the Association, Dr. Badria Mohammed Al Balushi, Technical Director of the Emirates Red Crescent Medical Center, and several volunteers, Khawla Al-Haj, Head of the Friends for Diabetes Association, presented the grant to Sultan Khalaf Al Mazrouei, General Manager at Red Crescent Medical Centre in Sharjah, through visual communication technology.

The campaign, according to Khawla Al-Haj, is part of the Association's dedication to improving community support, improving diabetic patients' way of life, and developing a safe atmosphere for them. This is under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs, as well as the Emirate of Sharjah's vision of a disease-free and prosperous nation.

“In collaboration with the health authorities and organizations, we at the Friends of Diabetes Association are always eager to improve the quality of health services given to diabetic patients in Sharjah. We are also committed to initiating diabetes education initiatives and programs, and providing the necessary assistance to patients, reducing their pain, and leading to their care to aid them in their recovery, enhancing Sharjah's role as a model to be imitated in caring for the health of people and residents,” Al-Haj added.

Sultan Khalaf Al Mazrouei expressed gratitude to the Association for the generous gesture and praised its hard work and dedication in organizing various events and programs to raise diabetes consciousness. The meeting focused on improving mutual collaboration in the voluntary sector to help diabetes patients by providing them with the required resources and supplying the Red Crescent Diabetes Clinic with important medications and medical devices.

Khawla Al-Haj and Dr. Ilham Al-Amiri then paid a visit to the Red Crescent Medical Center, where they were informed of the health services available.
