Health check-up for Dh1 per day offered by UAE healthcare group

A healthcare group in Dubai has introduced a preventive master health check-up package for Dh365, or Dh1 per day, to help UAE residents and tourists take better care of their health.

Residents may take advantage of a robust test kit that includes screening testing on at least 70 body functions, such as hormone profiles, vitamin profiles, lipid profiles, dental, and eye exams, are few of them. NMC Healthcare is offering the kit in all of its medical centers in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah (RAK).

The service is currently unavailable in Abu Dhabi. The service is available in Dubai at NMC healthcare clinics in Al Khail Mall, Satwa, and Jafza, according to an NMC official. The official added, "Because this is a preventive health check-up kit, the expense will not be covered by the patient's insurance plan."

“We're living in a world where lifestyle disorders are on the rise,” said Dr. Pari Pulate, a general surgeon with the NMC Healthcare networks. The majority of people only get medical tests performed when they have complaints or are sick. Primary prevention checks are performed by a very small percentage of the population."

The key to living a longer, healthier life is to detect disease early on before it becomes a concern. When a patient's illness is diagnosed early they have the greatest chance of receiving successful care. Numerous people have been admitted to hospitals with thyroid problems, blood pressure fluctuations, and diabetes that have progressed to dangerous levels. Residents can make the right health decisions with the aid of a preventive health check-up. Instead of taking diabetes pills, residents can monitor their condition by making a few changes in their lifestyle.

A free doctor's consultation is included in the kit, which can be followed up by a second consultation. The results of the tests are sent to the patients. The package's executive group, which costs Dh665, includes diagnostic tests for up to 84 criteria. This equates to Dh 2 a day over the course of a year. Dr. Pulate explained that patients can screen for cardiac risk factors, arthritis levels, liver profiles, renal levels, electrolytes levels, and iron deficiency. The tests are useful to those on dependent visas, who do not have medical insurance.

Some parameters that the package includes:

Hormone profile: Testosterone, triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone)

Vitamin profile: Vitamin D total, vitamin B 12

Renal profile: Calcium, uric acid, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, BUN/ creatinine ratio

Lipid profile: Total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, TC/ HDL cholesterol ratio, LDL/ HDL ratio

Liver profile: Bilirubin total, bilirubin direct, bilirubin indirect, AGOT (AST), serum globulin, protein (total)

Diabetic screening, Complete hemogram, Chest x-ray, ECG, Dental, and Eye- check-up.
